On Episode 94 of AVWeek, our young AV professional, Joshua Stackhouse, did a first for an AV podcast, and maybe even for podcasts in general. He proposed to his girlfriend. The tension was in the air as he recited an obvious feeling of dedication and emotion. It was humbling to be a part of their beginnings. The weeks after he invited everyone to follow him on Twitter to see what her response would be. It was a resounding “yes”.
A few weeks back, Joshua asked if I would promote their upcoming nuptuals on the AVWeek podcast by asking the listeners to follow #AVWedding. I said, of course. This would have been a natural extension of what we had done on the show by participating in the proposal. Well, my weeks being crazy, and me being human, I have neglected to mention it on the show. Thus the reason for this week’s blog post being dedicated to Joshua Stackhouse and his bride-to-be.
Joshua is a great guy, writer, and budding AV professional. He is a member Chris Neto’s Red Band Bloggers, and is getting a great handle on this social media thing. In addition, he is a veteran who volunteers his time to help non-profits support and improve their audio-visual experiences.
If you would love a feel-good story and watch as a fellow AV Pro experiences the roller coaster ride of putting together a wedding, check out #AVWedding. It may be the first #AVWedding hash tag, but it probably won’t be the last. Who knows, when the next “little Stackhouse” comes along, Josh will invited us into the world of registering for AV-centric baby gifts with the hash tag #AVBaby or #AVTwins.
Thanks for taking the time to read my blog. Have a great week.
